Living the Dream
When the Polo Estate project was conceived, the developers and their financiers set
out to find a site that is characterised by all the trappings of exclusivity associated
with the Game of Polo, yet the area had to be free of equine disease.
After combing the South African countryside for a site that would have a
distinctively grandiose backdrop, excessive space and be in close proximity to major
centres and the best attractions the country has to offer, attention settled on the
picturesque town of Dullstroom.
Dullstroom had all the right ingredients to make the perfect Polo tournament
hideaway. One of a small groups of towns that provide the gateway to the Kruger
National Park, the surrounding woodlands, mountains and natural wonders that
come with this piece of paradise, infused the project with an air of excitement. This
excitement would later translate into the coming on board of international players
such as Investec Bank and Rolls Royce.
And this is how the story of the marriage between Polo and Dullstroom all began. |
