| ATTRACTIONS: |
This is literally ‘Big Five’ country. Also known as the ‘land of
contrasts’ because of the way the dramatic topography of the
escarpment plays off against the open-air splendours of the bush
of the Lowveld. The landscape is flecked with trout-rich rivers,
trees, hiking trails and cultural villages. |
‘Big Five’ refers to five of Africa’s greatest animals, namely the Rhino, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and the Lion - all found in South Africa.
